2012 could be a busy year. The year 2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse to some). Various sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar occurring on December 21 to indicate there will be major changes in the world order. The date December 21st, 2012 A.D. (13.0.0.0.0 in the
Long Count), represents an extremely close conjunction of the Winter Solstice
Sun with the crossing point of the Galactic Equator (Equator of the Milky Way)
and the Ecliptic (path of the Sun). The ancient Maya recognized this as
the "Sacred Tree". This is an event that has been coming into
focus very slowly over thousands of years. It will all come to a
conclusion at exactly 11:11 am Greenwich Mean Time. According to the The Mayan Calendar, 2012 refers generally to an ending of time of some sort The Mayan calendar has proven to be one of the most accurate time keeping systems known to human kind. It has tracked without fail every solar eclipse every lunar eclipse and even takes into account changes in the rotation of the earth and the speed of the rotation of the earth to accommodate for this. The Maya also predicted that in the year 1996 an inter-dimensional network would be created and that would enable everyone to see and communicate with each other thousands of miles away. Scholars have known for decades that the 13-baktun cycle of the Mayan calendar system of timekeeping was set to end precisely on December 21, 2012, the winter solstice. That this system was put in place some 2300 years ago is an astonish fact. How was it that ancient Mesoamerican skywatchers were able to pinpoint a winter solstice that far off into the future? The book 2012: "Mayan Year of Destiny" claims that the Maya may have been instructed in their wisdom by disembodied entities from Orion and the Pleiades. Contact was maintained through shamanic rituals conducted in accordance with the movements of planets and stars. There is so much hype, discussion, and concern around
2012 these days. Have you seen the movie? Many people think the end of the
world is coming - again. Another perspective is that 2012 refers to a timeframe where our solar system makes a full cycle around the equator of the Milky Way galaxy. This happens every 26,000 years and the Earth has done so many, many times already in our 4.5 billion years of existence. However, just as "Sagittarius" doesn't include only 1 day, but a month ranging from Nov.23rd to December 21st, our solar system doesn't take only 1 year to align around the Milky Way. We are already in the 2012 timeframe and have been for many years. We have been in alignment from 1980 and will continue until 2016. The exact midpoint was 1998 (plus/minus 18 years). For an internal confirmation - think back to what has changed since 1980 - the collapse of Soviet Union, Berlin Wall, Internet, Sept. 11, 2001 to name a few. Life is certainly changed from those days and it is continuing to change. Jose Arguelles is the person who first introduced the date December 21, 2012 into mass consciousness with The Mayan Factor. The initiator of the Harmonic Convergence global peace meditation of 1987, Arguelles is also the founder of the annual Whole Earth Festival (1970) in California, and one of the originators of the Earth Day concept. In The Mayan Factor, Path beyond Technology, 1987, Arguelles concluded that the primary intention of the Mayan calendar system was not to measure time but to record the harmonic calibrations of a galactic synchronization beam, 5,125-years or 5200-tun (360- day cycles) in duration. According to the time science of the ancient Maya, a great moment of transformation awaits us at 2012, when we pass out of that beam. Guided perspectives tell us that the long-awaited time in 2012 will be both a physical and spiritual shift. We see not the end-of the physical world, but the continuation of an evolution that began at the midpoint of the cycle in 1998. We believe that our world will be glorious and green, and just as beautiful in 2013, 2014, 2021 and beyond.

Whatever is not in synch with a higher truth is either coming more into
alignment, or it is becoming apparent that it needs to - think of our banking,
health care, and employment 'realities'. The movie, 2012, used the Sun's activity to imply some sort of neutrino emission that melts the earth's core. Philip Yam in Scientific American's Observations column takes a dim view of any such neutrino behavior, "Particles that can heat up the solid iron inner core by thousands of degrees should have cooked Earth's surface dry before Woody Harrelson gets the chance to steal all the scenes he's in." And yet, as early as 2006, Dr. M. Dikpati of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) predicted that, "The next sunspot cycle will be 30% to 50% stronger than the previous one." Dr. Dikpati forecasts a Solar Max will occur in 2012. Can that cause an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) powerful enough to wipe out our communications? Are you concerned that the Mayan calendar prophecy is valid? The book "The Orion Prophecy" claims that the earth's magnetic field will reverse. Granted, there may be difficult realities ahead in the 3-D world, but are we so rooted in our physical perspectives that we will not know the true places of comfort within us?. Some proponents of a peak oil catastrophe place major events in 2012. Richard C. Duncan's book "The Peak of World Oil Production and the Road To The Olduvai Gorge" claims that the Olduvai cliff will begin and permanent blackouts will occur worldwide. Several studies predict a peak in oil production in or around 2012.
